The Chef’s Room Pop-up fish and cookery school can offer a wide range of cookery classes, training and food experiences for the catering and corporate markets in a range of venues to suit your event in the vicinity of the renowned culinary town of Abergavenny.
Lindy Wildsmith has worked with Franco Taruschio OBE since he retired in 2000 Many people will know Franco as the founder of the legendary Walnut Tree Inn (today in the sae hands of Sean Hill) back in the sixties. He created many signature dishes bringing together the best of Welsh produce and the culinary traditions of Italy; something that has been perpetuated in their lessons.
While working together courtesy of John Sullivan in Blaenavon they won the Best Cookery School in Wales Award on a number of occasions.
Franco and Lindy are both enthusiastic tutors with strong motivational skills and know the importance of team work. They believe that although cooking is full-on it should be fun. Watching your team cook together, you will swiftly identify who are the movers and shakers……..
How will your event work?
You will have exclusive use of the venue for up to 25 people. Your event and menu will be tailored to suit you.
On arrival, attendees will be welcomed with a coffee and then tasked with creating nibbles for the team to enjoy with a pre-lunch glass of Prosecco, a three course meal and some after-dinner biscuits. The team will work under the guidance of consultant chef Franco Taruschio and Lindy Wildsmith. Options include working as a single team as a brigade in a kitchen or working in two teams competing against each other in a cook off style tournament.
Afternoon tea bake away, canapes’ and cocktails, fish cooking, preserving, curing, oriental and classic French as well as regional Italian menus available.

"I used Lindy to deliver a Cookery Masterclass for delegates on the Gold Level Fishmonger's Training for Tesco recently at Vin Sullivan Foods, I found Lindy to be engaging, knowledgable, interesting and fun, whilst teaching my delegates to cook fish!
